WCH: Children and Youth Branch Family Partners

Purpose

To improve the health and well-being of children and youth with special health care needs and their families.

Description

There is a strong national and state emphasis on involving families of children/youth with special health care needs in program planning, implementation, evaluation and quality assurance. It is a requirement of the federal Title V agency that family input be obtained for this population. The Branch Family Partners assure the inclusion of families in planning, review and evaluation activities.

Strong partnerships with DHHS divisions, other governmental agencies, private service providers, children’s advocacy groups and others are necessary to improve services and access to care. The Branch encourages individual Branch Family Partners to work with child serving partners locally and beyond their communities to incorporate appropriate planning and services for all children with special needs.
