The 2013 North Carolina State Health Director's Conference was held on January 24-25, at the Marriott Crabtree Valley, in Raleigh. The annual conference provided a unique opportunity for local and state public health leaders to convene around public health issues of strategic interest.
Speakers at the 2013 conference included Myron S. Cohen, MD, Director of the UNC Division of Infectious Disease and the UNC Institute for Global Health and Infectious Disease; Linda Rae Murray, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer for the Cook County Department of Public Health and; Wanda K. Jones, DrPH, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Pam Silberman, JD, Dr.PH, was presented with the 2013 Ronald H. Levine Legacy Award during the luncheon on Thursday, January 24.
