September is National Suicide Prevention month. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth ages 10 to 17. If you or someone you know needs help:

  • Visit https://www.itsok2ask.com/ to learn more about reducing the stigma of mental health disorders and preventing suicide.
  • Text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line, a free, 24/7 resource to text with a trained crisis counselor. For more information visit: https://www.crisistextline.org/
  • The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). For more information, visit https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/
  • For medical or life-threatening emergency always call 911.
